WHAT WE COVER

What IB IA tuition includes

01

Topic and research question.

We help you choose an IA topic you can finish well and turn it into a clear, focused research question that fits your subject's criteria.

02

Criteria and planning.

Every IA is marked against published criteria. Your tutor explains them in plain words, then builds a step-by-step plan around your school's timetable.

03

Feedback on drafts.

Share a draft in a lesson and your tutor gives specific feedback against the criteria, so you know what to improve first and why.

04

Deadline planning.

We work backwards from your school's internal deadlines so research, analysis and drafting fit around mocks, CAS and your other subjects.

The Maths IA is a written exploration of a mathematical idea you choose yourself. It is the same task for Analysis and Approaches and for Applications and Interpretation, and it counts for 20% of your final grade at SL and HL. It is marked on presentation, mathematical communication, personal engagement, reflection and use of mathematics. Our IB maths IA tutors help you pick a topic with enough mathematics in it, check that the level is right and make the structure clear.

GROUP 4: SCIENCES

IB Physics IA tutor

In the Physics IA you design, carry out and write up your own scientific investigation. It counts for 20% of your final grade and is marked on four criteria: research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation, with 6 marks each. Marks are often lost on research questions that are too broad, uncertainties that are missing or unclear, and conclusions that go further than the data. Our IB physics IA tutors help you choose a question you can measure, plan the method and handle uncertainties and graphs.

The Chemistry IA is a scientific investigation of your own design, worth 20% of your final grade and marked on research design, data analysis, conclusion and evaluation. Popular ideas include reaction rates, enthalpy changes, acid-base titrations and electrochemical cells. Our IB chemistry IA tutors help you narrow a topic into a testable question, plan a method that gives usable data and write a conclusion that matches your results.

IB Psychology IA tutor

The Psychology IA is a report on an experimental study. You plan a simple experiment based on a published study, collect your data, analyse it with descriptive and inferential statistics and write it up in the IB report format. Our IB psychology IA tutors help you choose a study you can repeat, design a fair procedure, pick the right statistics and explain your findings clearly. The course is changing, so we check your version first.

FAQ

Questions about IB IA tuition

Which IB subjects do you offer IA tuition for?

−

We offer IA tuition for every IB subject that has an Internal Assessment, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Design and Technology, Computer Science, Business Management, Economics, Psychology, ESS, History, Geography, Global Politics and SEHS. If your subject is not on the list, message us and we will find you a tutor.

Do you run an intensive IA course before deadlines?

+

Yes. The intensive IA course is for students with a deadline coming up soon. We check where your IA stands, agree a day-by-day plan and focus first on the criteria where you can gain the most marks. Book a free trial class and tell us your deadline, and we will suggest the right plan.

Can lessons fit my time zone?

+

Yes. Every lesson is live and one-on-one on Google Meet, and we schedule it in your own time zone. When you book, tell us the days and hours that suit you around school, and we will confirm the slot in your local time so you do not have to work out the difference.

I am halfway through my IA. Is it too late to start tuition?

+

No. Many students join part-way. In the first lesson your tutor looks at what you have done so far, compares it with the criteria and agrees what to improve first. Starting earlier gives more time, but a clear plan helps at any stage before your deadline.

How early should I start my IA?

+

As early as your school allows. Most schools set internal deadlines well before the final submission date, and topic choice and data collection take longer than expected. Ask your teacher for the dates, and we can build a plan that works backwards from them.

Do you help with topic and research question ideas?

+

Yes. Choosing a topic is one of the most important steps. Your tutor helps you list ideas, test whether each one is realistic for your subject and time, and turn the best one into a focused research question or aim that fits the marking criteria.

How do draft feedback and deadlines work?

+

You share your draft in a lesson, and your tutor gives feedback against the criteria for your subject, so you know what to change and why. We agree dates for each stage with you, so research, drafting and revision fit around your other work.

What happens in the free trial class?

+

The trial is a real one-on-one lesson on Google Meet. Your tutor asks about your subject, level and deadline, looks at where you are with your IA and teaches something useful straight away. Afterwards we talk through what a regular plan could look like.

Does the IA differ between SL and HL?

+

It depends on the subject. In Maths and the sciences the IA task is the same at SL and HL. In some other subjects the weighting or requirements differ between levels. Your tutor checks the current guide for your level and subject at the start.

Do you also help with the Extended Essay and TOK?

+

Yes. We also offer one-on-one coaching for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge, and many students combine them with IA lessons. See our Extended Essay and TOK pages for details.
